Four people were killed in a collision on the N2 between Dutywa and Mthatha in the Eastern Cape on Monday.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, said that a Toyota Avanza collided with an LDV travelling in the opposite direction.
“The driver of the Avanza, as well as a female and male passenger, died instantly. Five passengers of the Avanza were seriously injured,’ said Manatha.
He said the female driver of the bakkie died instantly while a male passenger was seriously injured.
“The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals and some were airlifted to hospitals,” Manatha said.
The cause of the accident is not known but under investigation by Dutywa Police.
