A hunt is underway for two gunmen who pulled up outside a tavern in Gqeberha (PE) and opened fire, killing four people.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says a fourth person walking home from the tavern in Kwazakhele on Saturday night was wounded a short distance away and died later in hospital.
“It is alleged that at about 20:15, a grey VW Polo with two males arrived at the tavern in Mjamba Street and started shooting randomly at the people outside,” she said.
Naidu said the motive for the shooting and the suspects are unknown at this stage.”
Police identified the victims as Lusanda Matebele (age unknown), Luyanda Steven Fumana (36), Sisanda Cele (age unknown), and Sandile Ngqondo (35).
Naidu said all the victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
