Four people were killed and two were wounded in seperate shooting incidents in Port Elizabeth Thursday night.

Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, says residents of  Greenfields in Bethelsdorp notified police at about 9pm, that they heard gunshots.

She said when police arrived on the scene they found the bodies of 29-year-old Loyiso Vusani and 16-year-old Sandiso Ranqu in William Slabbert Drive.

The motive for the shooting is not known and while their relatives said the men were not gangsters, police are probing all aspects.

In another incident in Bethelsdorp at 9.20pm unknown attackers shot at two men.

Janse Van Rensburg said 23-year-old Noah Rensburg was shot in the back and died in the driveway of his home in Hawkin Street.

His 28-year-old friend was wounded in the buttocks, but managed to run about a kilometre towards his home, from where he contacted police.

In the third shooting in Sanctor in the early hours of Friday morning, a man was killed when a shot was fired into the shack in the yard of a dwelling.

Janse Van Rensburg said 24-year-old Emmanuel Meyer was hit and died instantly.
