Members of the Grahamstown Stock theft unit followed up on information that suspected stolen sheep was being sold in Joza over the weekend.
Police Spokesperson Captain Mali Govender says on arrival, they seized 6 live sheep and 4 slaughtered carcasses.
She says the four suspects have been arrested and face charges of possession of suspected stolen property.
Govender says more arrests are expected.
The suspects aged between 28 and 40 will appear in court on Tuesday.
