Four companies have submitted applications to operate Bingo Halls in Uitenhage.
Metrominute reports that the four are part of 16 applications received for Bingo licenses in the second round of bidding, which closes on June 27th.
In the first round, the Eastern Cape Gambling and Betting Board issued six licenses, with two going to Port Elizabeth, two two licenses to East London and one each in Jeffrey’s Bay and Mthatha.
Figures published by the Board show a dramatic increase in gross turnover for the six facilities since they opened in December.
According to Metrominute, the Board said gross turnover grew from 4.4 million rand in December to a staggering 134 million rand in April this year.
