Former SANDF member arrested for alleged crime in the 90's

 A former member of the SA National Defence Force has been arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at a person ... 14 years ago.

Police said the 41-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday by the police's tracing unit in Butterworth.

Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, says the alleged incident of pointing of a firearm occurred on the First of December 1999 in Somerset East.

He says the suspect was still a member of the SANDF when he committed the offence.

He will appear in court soon.
