A 41-year-old Eastern Cape woman appeared in the Mthatha Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Tuesday for allegedly defrauding Standard Bank of over R80 000.
Hawks spokesperson, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela says Suleka Kona was arrested on Tuesday and later released on warning for a fraud case dating back to 2016.
Kona, who worked at Standard Bank at the time allegedly opened accounts in the names of deceased people and made withdrawals from the two accounts for her own use.
Mgolodela said the bank opened a case at the Ngcobo Police Station and was later picked up by the Hawks.
She says Kona will be back in court again on the 19th of August.
