Five people have been killed following an accident Saturday morning on the N2 just before the Thornill off-ramp towards Port Elizabeth.
Police Spokesperson Lieutenant Gerda Swart says a female victim was taken to a hospital in Port Elizabeth.
The accident involved a Renault Clio and Mazda who were travelling in opposite directions.
It is unclear at this stage what lead to the accident. Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
The names of the victims will be released once their next of kin have been notified.
