Five people accused of a mob murder in Kwazakhele last month are expected to appear in the New Brighton Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge says the four men and a woman were linked to the murder of 23-year-old Sinethembe Gwatya on the 29th of July.
He says Gwatya's charred body remains were found in Stofile Street with a burnt toy gun and rocks also found on the scene
Tyres were placed around his body before he was set alight.
Beetge says it is alleged that the suspects accused him of robbing people in the community.
A Special task team is investigating the recent spate of mob murders in Port Elizabeth.
The latest victim was found on Wednesday in Sakhuba street with his hands and feet bound with wire and a rope around his neck.
Beetge says the victim was also severely assaulted and partially burnt.
