Police at Centane in the Eastern Cape say the bodies of 5 people have washed up at Qolorha by Sea beach since Tuesday.
Captain Jackson Manatha says the bodies of two woman aged 20 and 21 were the first to wash up and have already been identified by family members.
He says a passersby found the body of a man in the same area on Thursday.
Captain Manatha says they were called out again this morning to Qolorha beach after tourists came across the bodies of two teenagers.
The boys were between the ages of 12 and 19.
He appealed to family members missing loved ones to make contact with the Centane police.
The bodies are currently being held at the Forensic Mortuary in Butterworth.
Manatha warned that the beach was not regarded as a main swimming area and was not manned by lifeguards.
