Five arrested for possession of 1000 oysters

Great Brak River police have arrested five people near Glentana who were in possession of nearly a thousand oysters.

According to regulations permit holders are only allowed to harvest 25 oysters.

Police said the five were fined R2 500 rand each.

The oysters were seized by the police's sea border unit and will be handed over to the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
