Eastern Cape police arrested five suspects following a robbery at a branch of Absa Bank in Joubertina on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Marianette Olivier says shots were fired when Uniondale police tried to stop their fleeing vehicle.
She says during the shootout one suspect was wounded and the other four arrested.
A Corsa bakkie and a white Toyota Hilux were seized.
Police are still searching for more suspects.
