Fisherman finds leg floating in Kei River

Police in Centane have opened up an inquest docket after a fisherman found a leg floating in the Kei River on Thursday.

Spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha says the fisherman first noticed a gumboot floating in the water and only later realised that a leg was still attached to it.

He says a leg is now at the government mortuary.
