The Gqeberha firearms dealer who faces a litany of charges relating to the Firearms Control Act, is allegedly being threatened in her cell at the North End prison.
This information came to light in the city's Magistrates Court earlier today, during Karen Webb's bail application based on new facts.
When defence attorney Paul Roelofse alerted the court to the alleged threats, he was informed to take up the matter with the Department of Correctional Services.
In a statement that was read into the court record, the investigating officer, Sergeant Jean Botha said Webb's latest bid for bail was not based on new facts.
He said the current application is merely an extension of the first application in a bid to fill the gaps that had previously arisen when she was refused bail.

With regards to Webb's cache of firearms that had allegedly gone missing, Botha said the whereabouts of the firearms had been known to her before she submitted her first affidavit, but she chose not to make it known.
Touching on the issue of Webb's cell phone, Botha said the phone that was handed to police was not the device she was using at the time of her arrest.
According to him, the phone has still not been found.
Roelofse asked the court for a postponement to prepare his answering affidavit on the state's rebuttal.
Webb will appear in court again on 1 July.
