The Kouga Municipality says its weary fire-fighters have managed to extinguish the fires that flared up again in the St Francis Bay area.
Spokesperson, Laura-Leigh Randall, says it was a hard all-night battle.
However, she says the preventive measures that were put in place have made a big difference.
Randall says there are still many hot-spots and the risk of the fire flaring up again remains.
She says fire-fighters remain on alert.
