Police in the Western Cape have arrested a 31-year-old woman after she was found in possession of drugs worth R700 000 on the N2 highway near Plettenberg Bay on Sunday.
Spokesperson, Sergeant Christopher Spies, said the arrest followed after members stopped a passenger bus at a roadblock at the Tsitsikamma Tollgate at about 22:00.
He said when members searched the luggage compartment of the bus they discovered a grey bag with about 13 500 mandrax tablets inside.
Further investigation led police to find the owner of the bag who was a passenger on the bus.
The woman remains in custody and will appear in court when charged.
