The Chris Hani District Municipality has reported at least two fatalities as a result of floods that hit the area late last week.
Municipality spokesperson, Bulelwa Ganyaza, says teams are still in the area in search of more people that might have been swept away.
She said the body of one person has been recovered while the search is continuing in the Cofinvaba area for another person reported missing.
Ganyaza said the Disaster Management team also recovered a woman's body from the Komani river in Owen street.
The identity of the deceased is still unknown.
"Residents are encouraged to report missing persons with the SAPS and also urged to avoid dangerous crossings until floodwaters subside," she said.
