Fatal smash in Eastern Cape

 One person has been killed in a head-on collision on the R-75 near Alexandria.

Police warrant officer Tembi Gwe, says a vehicle collided with a truck early on Wednesday morning.

She says the female driver of the car died on the scene while a passenger was seriously injured.

Gwe says the truck driver was also injured.

The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
