Family of six burn to death in Oudtshoorn

A family of six has burned to death in their home in an informal settlement near Oudtshoorn.

Police say the incident happened at around 2 am on Wednesday.

A neighbour who lives in the area known as the Channel told Algoa FM News that they tried to extinguish the flames.

Police say the whole structure burned to the ground.

The names of the deceased have not yet been released.

Oudtshoorn police have opened an inquest docket.
