PORT ELIZABETH, December 22 (ANA) – Eastern Cape police have released some details of one of the fatal accidents in the province in the past 24 hours to Thursday.
Police in Dutywa are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a fatal accident that left a family of four dead.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, said the accident between a truck and a Sedan occurred along the N2 between Dutywa and Butterworth on Wednesday evening.
Manatha said the family of four travelling in the Sedan died instantly.
“All of them died instantly at the accident scene. The father was 53, mother 42 and their two children aged five and 15.”
The truck driver and a passenger were seriously injured and rushed to Butterworth hospital.
Meanwhile, three people were killed when a mini-bus taxi overturned about 35km from Cradock.
Traffic officials said that 12 other passengers were injured in the crash.
