A family of five has been burnt alive in an open bakkie while visiting a homestead in Mambalweni in Ntabankulu in the Eastern Cape.
Eastern Cape police said today that the incident took place on Sunday evening when the family had gone to pay their respects at the grave of a family member.
Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Sibongile Soci, said the same family was attacked in the same area in May last year and their house burnt down.
She says they then moved to another village.
Forty-two people were arrested in connection with that attack and their last court appearance was in March.
Soci says no arrests have been made yet in connection with the murder of the family.
