A family from East London is heartbroken after one of their dogs got swept off the rocks at Orient Beach on Sunday.
The Nasional Sea Rescue Institute activated their crew to help the family search for their boxer who is presumed to have drowned.
A spokesperson for the NSRI Craig Lambinon says the family's two boxers were playing by the rocks on the shoreline when one of them got swept off the rocks and into the surf.
He says despite an extensive search there was sadly no sign of the dog.
