Environmental Affairs Minister, Edna Molewa, will lead an Imbizo to the Eastern Cape this weekend.
The Department says at least 5 000 people are expected to attend a public participation meeting at which Molewa will address Traditional Leaders, Politicians and members of the public.
The Imbizo, comes against the background of consultative meetings between the Minister and the Mpondo Kingdom at which they raised some concerns around the development of the Mzimvubu River Catchment and the N2 Wild Coast Toll Road.
Environmental Affairs says a detailed study was undertaken to investigate a potential site for a multi-purpose dam to supply new water capacity for irrigation development, domestic and industrial water requirements and potentially hydro-power usage in the Mzimvubu river catchment.
