The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says all electricity and energy services in the metro is un-operational, following a strike on Wednesday, when employees downed tools across depots in the metro.
Worker grievances relate to intimidation and unfair labour practices amongst others.
Municipality spokesperson, Mthubanzi Mniki says the metro will not be able to attend swiftly to emergencies or calls relating to electricity as a result of the illegal industrial action by some employees.
Mniki says the public can still purchase electricity at all vending stations, except at the Munelek building in Harrower road, which is now closed.
