Port Elizabeth police are searching for four men who broke into the home of an elderly Seaview woman on Tuesday night, ransacking the house and taking cash and jewellery.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says its alleged that the men threw bricks through the lounge window of the 82-year-old woman's house.
She says the men, wearing balaclavas and gloves, threatened the woman with a knife before tying her up with a cable.
Naidu says the suspects fled when the woman's telephone started ringing.
