A 70-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday, following a domestic dispute at a flat at Long Street in Knysna.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says it is alleged that the woman threatened a family member who then phoned the police.
Officers on the scene confiscated a licensed and unlicensed firearm.
Meanwhile, a 69-year-old man was arrested on the same day, after police found an unlicensed rifle hidden in his bedroom at his house in Sedgefield.
Upon further investigation police also found a plastic bag full of empty cartridges, firearm licenses and ammunition.
Spies says for now the man is being charged with the possession of an unlicensed firearm but more charges could be laid as the investigation continues.
All the weapons will now be sent for ballistic testing to see it if it was used in the commission of any other crimes.
