Police in Uitenhage are investigating a murder after a 90-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her home.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli says the victim's neighbour walked past her house in Lange Street, Penford at about 9 am on Thursday morning and became suspicious when she saw that the lady's gate and the door were open.
She called out to the victim and went inside the house when nobody responded.
The woman's body was found at the entrance to her bedroom.
Nkohli says she had a stab wound in her upper body.
The motive for her attack is unknown and her name is being withheld until her relatives have been notified.
