Two elderly Port Elizabeth women have been attacked and robbed in their Rowallan Park home.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg says a 67-year-old lady woman had been collecting mail when an unknown suspect entered the yard and forced her into the house.
She says the woman was stabbed in the arm and locked inside the bathroom with her 65-year-old sister.
Janse Van Rensburg says the suspect ransacked the house before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewellery.
She says the victim's sister sustained bruises as she escaped through a bathroom window and called for help.
Janse Van Rensburg says both women are still being treated in hospital.
Police are investigating a case of attempted murder and house robbery.
