A Port Elizabeth teenager is expected to appear in court soon after a 64-year-old man made a citizens arrest.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says a 28-year-old Spaza shop owner was busy serving his customers in Bethelsdorp when one pulled out a firearm.
The suspects demanded the keys to the gate and entered the shop on the other side of the counter.
The men stole cigarettes, cash and a cellphone.
An elderly man who nearby, saw the suspects running from the shop and decided to chase after them.
Naidu says the man managed to apprehend a 16-year-old teenager and recovered a toy gun, cigarettes and some cash.
The youth will be charged with business robbery.
