Mossel Bay police are investigating a case of attempted murder after a 74-year-old resident from 18th Avenue shot at an intruder on Thursday afternoon.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Pieter Koekemoer says the incident happened at the premises of the elderly victim at around 3 o clock.
Koekemoer says that the 26-year-old suspect allegedly attacked the homeowner with a spade in the garden when a shot was fired.
The suspect was wounded in his leg and is being treated in the Mossel Bay Provincial Hospital.
