Elderly man in court for allegedly raping a child

An 83 year old man who allegedly raped a 9 year old girl appeared in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. 

The suspect, who is from the Crags, is accused of raping the victim in December last year. 

The man was renting a flatlet from the girl's grandparents, when he called the child into his unit and allegedly raped her. 

During his bail hearing in February, the man was released on a R1000 bail. 

The case was postponed to later this month.
