Police in Joubertina are investigating a case of murder after the body of an elderly man was found in his house on a smallholding about 10km outside of town.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli says the man appears to be between the ages of 70 and 80 years old.
He says a family friend discovered the body of the man lying outside the house near the kitchen door with head injuries.
Nkohli says the house was also ransacked.
The motive of the murder is unknown at this stage and anyone with information can contact the police.
The name of the victim is known to Algoa FM News, but his name is being withheld until his next of kin have been informed.
