St Francis Bay police have arrested three men following a house robbery in the seaside town.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Basil Seekoei, says the men allegedly entered the house through the back door while two elderly women were sitting in the lounge.
He says one of the suspects allegedly strangled one of the women before both were robbed of jewellery, cash and a cell phone.
The suspects were arrested shortly afterwards.
Seekoei says they will appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of house robbery and theft.
Meanwhile Alice police have arrested a 26-year old man for the possession of suspected stolen property valued at R150 000.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Bradley Rawlinson, says the suspect was arrested yesterday when police found electrical equipment, jewellery and grass cutters among other things at his home.
Its alleged that the suspect was involved in several house-breakings in and around Alice.
