Police in Port Elizabeth are investigating a case of house robbery after an elderly couple was tied up during a home invasion on Thursday.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the couple's alert Jack Russel started barking in their bedroom on an estate in Kragga Kamma Road in Colleen Glen.
She says the couple aged 84 and 91 tried to quiet down the dog, when four unknown men, entered their bedroom.
Colonel Naidu says one produced a firearm while another tied up the couple with electrical cords.
She says they rummaged through the house and stole jewellery, Kruger Rands and other valuable goods valued at R100 000.
The couple later managed to untie themselves and were not injured during the home invasion.
