A woman from East London has died in an accident reported by police on the R-72 towards Alexandria.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, says it is alleged that the woman in her fifties was travelling from Port Elizabeth when she apparently lost control of her vehicle which then overturned on Monday morning.
She says there were three dogs in the car and two of them were killed in the accident. The third dog is in the care of the SPCA.
Govender says the woman's name will only be released once her next of kin have been informed.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
