The two men accused of raping and robbing two Swedish tourists in East London last year say they were refused legal representation during an identity parade.
Police colonel, Albert Meyer, testified on Wednesday that all those who were part of the line up were informed of their rights to legal representation.
However, he told the East London High Court that no one took up the offer.
Through their lawyer the accused, Simphiwe Wayizi and Asenathi Bonani, said they had wanted legal representation but the police officers didn't listen to them.
The two have pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
