A 47-year-old Correctional Services official has been arrested for the murder of a woman whose body was found in his living quarters at an East London prison.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, says the victim has also been identified as 45-year-old Bulelwa Mxosa.
He says Mxosa sustained visible injuries to her body and was found at the suspect's quarters at Fort Glamorgan Correctional Facility in West Bank, at 2 pm on Wednesday.
Nkohli says a task team was immediately activated and within four hours, the suspect was traced and arrested at a local tavern.
The suspect will appear in the East London Magistrate's Court on Thursday on a charge of murder.
