Fraud accused Dylan Strydom (27)

Supplied: Hawks

A 27-year-old man appeared in the Mthatha Regional Court on Wednesday on fraud charges laid against him by the owner of a hotel in Tsomo.

A spokesperson for the Hawks, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela says Dylan Buzz Strydom was arrested on Monday.

She says it is alleged that Strydom introduced himself as an employee of Yoco Technology (Pty)Ltd and sold three, speed point machines to the complainant for R3 500.

Captain Mgolodela says after a few months the complainant realised that the sales money was not going through his business account and decided to open a fraud case with the Hawks.

She says the investigation revealed that the bank account belonged to Strydom who lives in Kidd's Beach, East London.

Transactions worth R1.2 million took place between July and September 2023.

Strydom was granted bail of R500.00 and must be back in court on the 4th of November.
