Twenty suspects were arrested for various crimes in Mdantsane, Eastern London, Thursday night.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Nkosikho Mzuku says the suspects are believed to have been involved in a host of serious and violent crimes, including murder, rape and robbery.

Mzuku says a number of the suspects we re-arrested after failing to appear in court.

The suspects - aged 22 to 45 - are due to appear in the Mdantsane Magistrate's Court on Friday on various charges.
