East London police have arrested five men after they discovered a toy gun hidden at a Bed and Breakfast in Duncan Village.
Police Captain Hazel Mqala says an intelligence-driven operation by Operational Command Centre members led to the discovery of the toy gun at the B & B in St Paul's Street.
She says cell phones and other dangerous weapons were also recovered.
Captain Mqala says the suspects aged between 25 and 37 were further positively linked to recent business robberies in the East London CBD and Duncan Village area.
They will be appearing in the East London Magistrate court on Wednesday on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, business robbery and pointing of a firearm.
