Eight of twelve victims in horror crash identified


Eastern Cape Transport authorities says eight of the 12 people who were killed in a horror three-car accident between Queenstown and Whittelsea, have been identified.

While their names have not yet been released, Transport Ministry spokesperson Ncedo Kumbaca, says four people in one of the vehicles were from one family while four in another car were also from one family.

He says the Ministry is still awaiting details of the remaining victims.

Nine men aged between 35 and 50 and two woman died in the accident.

The twelfth victim was a ten year old girl.

Several people who were slighly injured were treated and discharged from Queenstown's Frontier Hospital.

Transport MEC, Tandiswa Marawu, has also expressed her condolences to the families of the victims.
