The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM) says teams are working tirelessly to restore the electricity supply in the city.
Residents of 13 suburbs have been experiencing power outages since Friday.
In a statement, the municipality assured residents that they were "diligently" addressing the issue.

The Nelson Mandela Municipality contractor has successfully planted 48 wooden poles, and the Eskom team from the Eastern Cape has assembled the necessary structures.
Additional teams from the Western Cape have arrived, equipped with materials to expedite the construction process. Work is ongoing throughout the night to accelerate progress.
Cable terminations and oil purification for the transformer at the South End substation are complete.
Transformer testing is underway and will continue overnight.
A 24-hour soaking process will follow, with load restoration planned for 27 August 2024.
Alternative feeders have been activated, restoring power to several areas, including Walmer Location, Airport Valley, Prospect Road (Walmer residential area), Dayton, Cleaners, and St Bernadette.
The Nelson Mandela Bay business chamber has installed a second generator at Kingshurst Retirement Apartments, ensuring a reliable power supply for residents.
On 27 August 2024, additional teams will focus on reconductor stringing and installing stay wires to enhance stability.
Eskom, the contractor, and NMBM teams will continue planting poles and restringing lines to maintain steady progress.
