The Economic Freedom Fighters says it wants Danny Jordaan to resign from the SA Football Association, following his appointment as Nelson Mandela Bay mayor.
EFF national spokesperson, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says Jordaan must resign from SAFA, as he has chosen active politics and life as an ANC politician.
The African National Congress announced yesterday that it was replacing Benson Fihla with Jordaan.
Fihla still has to tender his resignation.
The EFF said it was obvious that Jordaan was elected to be, what it called the "Messiah" for the collapsing ANC in the region.
He was one of three changes made in the top municipal leadership
Deputy Mayor Chippa Ngcolomba makes way for former deputy mayor Bicks Ndoni, while Chief Whip Joy Searle, makes way for Litha Suka.
Current Speaker Maria Hermans, keeps her position.
Meanwhile, ANC National Spokesperson, Zizi Kodwa says Jordaan will remain on as SAFA president in a non executive position while dedicating his time to the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.
