Education MEC to call on Cradock school following fatal crash

Eastern Cape Education MEC Mandla Makupula plans to visit the Cradock Primary School on Tuesday, following this weekend's horror bus crash in which the principal, Wimpie van der Merwe and a pupil, ten year-old learner Stefanus Ferreira, died.
They were among the 17 victims who died when the school bus collided with a minibus taxi on the road between Cradock and Graaff-Reinet.
Makapula's spokesperson, Loyiso Pulumani, plans to personally express his condolences and also look at what steps can be done to help the school get back on its feet after the tragedy.
The names of the victims in the taxi, have not yet been released.
