Teachers union Sadtu and the department of education have managed to reach agreements on several issues, including allegations of corruption, issues with markers and the Limpopo textbook saga.
The union has accused Education Director-General, Bobby Soobrayan of corruption, but has agreed that an investigation be referred to the Public Service Commission.
Basic Education deputy minister, Enver Surty says they will address the crucial issue of marking papers.
"The aspect of the markers will be dealt with by a task team made up of the representatives of the unions Sadtu and other teacher unions and the Department of basic education who will seek to resolve the disputes within an agreed time frame by and in between the parties. They commit themselves to optimal collaboration and enhancing and improving quality education" he said.
