EC women perish in fire

Eastern Cape police have opened an inquest docket, following the deaths of three women, aged between 21 and 30, in a house fire at Butterworth.

Police spokesperson, Capt Jackson Manatha said it is suspected that a candle caused Sunday's fire.

He said it was not clear if the victims were related, as they were sleeping in the same house.

Manatha says police are investigating.
