A 36-year-old Eastern Cape woman has been arrested following the murder of her husband and mother-in-law in Elliotdale.
Police spokesperson, Captain Siphokazi Mawisa says the 46-year-old husband and his 81-year-old mother were shot and killed at their home in Mkatazo Village on Thursday.
She says an investigation revealed that the man's wife allegedly hired five hitmen to kill him and her mother-in-law.
During the arrest of the six suspects on Friday, police recovered three unlicensed firearms and 34 rounds of ammunition.
The suspects, aged between 23 and 55, are expected to appear in the Elliotdale Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of murder, conspiracy to murder, and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
