EC woman arrested for allegedly murdering baby

A 24-year-old woman has been arrested following the discovery of the body of a 10-month-old baby in bushes near Komga in the Eastern Cape.

Police spokesperson, Captain Siphokazi Mawisa, says community members alerted the police after the body of the baby boy was found on Tuesday.

She says detectives arrested his mother at Mount Frere on Friday where she was attending school.

She will appear in the Komga Magistrate's Court on Monday on a charge of murder.
