A truck driver was killed on Friday morning when two trucks collided head-on on the R72 between Port Alfred and East London.
Provincial Traffic deputy director Charles Bramwell says the accident took place near Birah and involved a Coke truck travelling from PE to East London and a Miltrans truck headed in the opposite direction.
Bramwell says both vehicles overturned in the collision and the 52 year-old driver of the Miltrans truck died on the scene.
The driver of the other truck escaped with only minor injuries.
Police have opened a culpable homicide docket.
