An Eastern Cape man who allegedly murdered three women on Wednesday has handed himself over to police.
Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Sibongile Soci, said the 48-year-old suspect was taken into custody by Sterkspruit police on Thursday.
She said it is alleged that he had fatally wounded the three women, aged 58, 66, and 72, at their homesteads at Mbihli Village in the Palmietfontien area.
A fourth woman, aged 48, was wounded in the shooting and rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Soci said the suspect will appear in court in Sterkspruit soon on charges of murder and attempted murder.
Eastern Cape Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General, Liziwe Ntshinga, said SAPS would oppose any bail application by the suspect.
